What next?
1. Give your life to Jesus
What you just experienced was God knocking at the door of your heart. Every one of us has messed up and “missed the mark” (what the bible calls “sin”) in life, but at the Cross, Jesus took all of your wrong upon himself so you could be made right with God. To do this, you need to receive His forgiveness and open your heart to him.
Here’s a prayer you can pray:
Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I open the door of my heart. I make you Lord of my life. Fill me with your Spirit. Amen.
If you’re not ready to pray that just yet, no problem. You still need to go on to steps 2 and 3.
2. Get around others who’ve encountered Jesus
There are two types of people: 1) those who’ve encountered Jesus and 2) those who haven’t. Five minutes ago, perhaps you were in category 2). Nothing can convince someone Jesus is real except Jesus himself. But then you met him! You may have friends and family who are still in category 2). That’s OK, but they may think you’re crazy when you tell them what just happened – and after a while, you might start to wonder if they’re right! You need to get around others who are in category 1), to keep you on track with what you know in your heart was real.

3. Hear what God has to say about you
That voice telling you you’re crazy for believing this is real is trying to stop you from experiencing the love that God has for you. Nothing good comes from listening to that voice. But life comes from hearing God’s voice! One of the ways God speaks to us is through the bible. The bible isn’t just a book; it’s alive.
